Our Founder

Mahadev Mahavidyalaya is a tribute to the years of service rendered by the late Ram Autar Singh ji in the field of education. He held the position of Principal in secondary education for almost thirty years, and his lifelong aspiration was to elevate higher education to new heights, a sector that has been neglected for centuries. His personality and creativity are still a source of inspiration for us today, as they were always striving for the expansion of education in society.

ABOUT MPGC

Mahadev Post Graduate Mahavidyalaya, Bariyasanpur, Varanasi,(U.P.) is located at a distance of 500 meters from the block of Chirai Village on Gajipur Rajmarg 29 in Bariyasanpur village, Varanasi,(U.P.). The name of this college is derived from the name of the ancient Shiv Peeth, which is located in the northeast of the Bariyasanpur village.

This college was established in 21st May, 2002 with the aim of providing disciplined and quality education away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since then, this college has been continuously progressive in the field of higher education. It has well-equipped laboratories, a park, and spacious classrooms with nearly 7,000 students, more than 150 teachers, and staff.

This college offers a total of 16 subjects under the Bachelor of Arts program. These subjects include Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Sociology, Political Science, Ancient History, Economics, Science, Geography, Education, Psychology, Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Journalism and Social Work.

In the science department, there are a total of ten subjects offered. These subjects are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geography, Home Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology and Statistics. In the commerce faculty the college offers a Bachelor of Commerce degree, along with Bachelor of Education degree in Education Faculty. The college offers a Bachelor of Computer Application in faculty of Computer and Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Fine Art faculty.

In the Prost Graduate Department of Arts, college offers Hindi, Home Science, Geography, Social Science, Ancient History, Journalism and Mass Communication, Education, Political Science, Sanskrit, Economics and Psychology. In the Post Graduate Department of Science, the college offers Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics along with M. Com in Post Graduate Department of Commerce.

Mahadev P.G. College caters to the educational, social, cultural and economic needs of the society. All these characteristics are reflected in its policies. College imparts education in all major streams focusing chiefly on the rural population.
